Postcards from the Farm ~ Part 1

Until this weekend I had only been to the farm once (very briefly) since I moved back home from Nashville. This weekend really soothed my soul. There is not much that I don't love about the farm. It's especially pretty in autumn. And I made a few photos to share.

Knob across the road from us:

My pine trees!!!

They are now two years old and very happily growing up a storm. All of them are at least 10' tall and some are larger. I am just thrilled with how well they are doing.

The beavers are still happily ensconced in their lodge in the lake/pond. Check out the tooth marks on this tree they felled. It's about 8" diameter.

My bottle tree could use a little TLC. I don't think very many evil spirits will be scared away by it right now.

Our hex sign and weathervane still proudly overlooking everything:

Check out my rosemary bush!

I have never been able to get rosemary to overwinter outside since I moved north of Interstate Highway 20. This poor bush has been neglected for over two years and yet it is flourishing. The bush is about 6 feet wide and about 4 feet tall. It needs a little pruning and cleaning up around, which I will plan to do in the spring.
