For many years I have been a fan of Dale Chihuly. Whenever we travel I always try to search out his glass and go see it. Sometimes I make special trips to view his work. My favourite exhibitions are his garden installations. In 2004 there was a fabulous exhibit at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens. My Mom and I went over for the weekend to see it and had a wonderful time. Today's Pink Saturday contribution is a couple of shots from our visit there. These are two photos, one with flash and one without, of the same piece of glass. It's always interesting to me how things look in different light.
Chihuly's work can be found in different places around the world. Not only does he do these wonderful garden installations, you can find pieces in the art museum in Birmingham, at a bank in Racine, in the National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia, on the ceiling of the Bellagio in Las Vegas and hundreds of other places. I highly recommend seeing any of his glass if you get the chance.
Happy Pink Saturday!
