October is designated Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Breast cancer is a horrible disease that has taken way too many people way too young. One of my dear friends succumbed to this disease in her 30s. My wonderful mother is a 6 year survivor, but the cancer has certainly taken its toll on her. This disease is no respector of person or age. We have made wonderful strides in learning about breast cancer, but there is still much work to be done. Please see what you can do to help. And if you are female, always do monthly self breast exams starting from the time you are 20 years old. Get used to doing it and you will be able to notice any changes that might not be seen easily by a doctor. Take care of yourselves, ladies! And Happy Pink Saturday!
