Sunday attitude adjustment, cooking & Christmas

My mental attitude is getting better without me having to work so hard at it. Thank goodness. I hate feeling down and I'm sure it doesn't do my family any good either.

This afternoon is going to be the annual Gingerbread House assembly. For years the girls have done these houses. Every one of them is different and every one of them has been beautiful. They do not just make a house, but also the surrounding yard. We've even had frozen lakes.

Donnie and Abbey will be coming by shortly to get DD#2 to go to Publix and get the various candies, etc. for decorations. While they are there, they are going to get a few things that I need to make Coq au Vin. It is this week's recipe for the Barefoot Bloggers. House construction is hard work, so I know the workers will be hungry when it is done. The Coq au Vin will be great for us to have for dinner afterward. And it will be lovely to have the whole family here. I'll also get my BB recipe done with plenty of comments.

My IV antibiotic should be done in about 45 minutes, so I'll get untethered and more easily be able to do some things. While the kids are here, they are going to set up the silver aluminum tree, colour wheel and monorail. I'll be sure to make pics! The monorail is our mod version of the train around the tree. It's perfect for the mid-century Christmas decor.

Thanks Hilary. I went to bed and they were still working on it. Not sure if they are done yet or not.

Thanks Maryann. I always think the girls do a fabulous job with their gingerbread creation. Sometimes I think they have more fun with the surrounding landscape than with the house itself. I will try to make pics in the next couple of days and post them here on the blog.
